1788 New Jersey Copper. Maris 77-dd (DS3), i.e. 78-dd, W-5535. Rarity-2. Running Fox Before Legend. VF-35 (PCGS). 145.0 grains. Nice medium chocolate brown with hard, smooth surfaces. Just a good looking example with excellent centering and no problems. A tiny little rim nick over M of UNUM is about the biggest defect here. For those seeking a type coin of the Running Fox type, this piece would be ideal. For specialists, this piece shows the interesting die clash that manifests with an "extra ear" near the singletree and an impression of the singletree at S of PLURIBUS.
