- 1942-P Jefferson Nickel. Type II. Proof-66 Cameo (PCGS).
An impressive strike rarity for the issue, this silver-tinged beauty exhibits appreciable contrast between satiny design elements and mirrored fields. Alone among Proof Jefferson nickels of the Wartime alloy, the 1942-P is always in demand for type purposes. The issue is rare with a cameo finish, however, which fact earmarks the present specimen for inclusion in an advanced collection.
PCGS Population: 8; 3 finer in this category (Proof-67+ Cameo finest). PCGS has awarded a DCAM designation to only one example of this issue.
PCGS# 84180. NGC ID: 27A4.
