- Hobnob Collection. Mintage: 40,000. Obvious merging shows along the obverse left stars and throughout a majority of the reverse, which is about what one expects of the a well-worn Barber quarter. Many collectors do not realize that at 40-thousand pieces, the 1913-S quarter has the lowest mintage of all regular issue coins aside from gold emissions.
