One of just 72,664 examples of this key date rarity struck. While the 1901-S quarter does not have the lowest mintage figure of the Barber design type - that honor goes to the 1913-S at 40,000 pieces - the '01-S is the key date in the series, bar none. Indeed, it rules the price columns in the <em>Guide Book</em> in every grade from G-4 to MS-63, the highest grade given. This wholesome and appealing AG is well worth more than a casual glance.
