70.2 grains. Mr. August acquired two EF examples of the distinct Noe-2 Pine Tree for his collection, and while both are equally lovely for the assigned grade, we like this one a bit more. Both show a similar quality of strike, centering good, legends fully legible despite the border lightly encroaching upon several of the letters. This piece is sharper in the centers, especially within the tree's branches and at the digits in the date, and its ruddy steel and medium gray surfaces are more original in appearance. With no significant marks or troublesome flan flaws, as well, this is a highly desirable Straight Tree at the assigned grade level.
