Lot Description

1849-O Seated Liberty Quarter. Briggs 1-A, the only known dies. AU-50 (NGC). Pearl gray iridescence with a faint dusting of lilac. A scarce issue in all grades and a condition rarity at the AU-50 grade level. NGC has certified examples as AU-50 or finer on only 13 occasions since the inception of that firm back in 1986, a figure that may include multiple submissions for some examples.
