- 1838 Modified Matron Head Cent. N-7. Rarity-1. MS-65+ BN (PCGS).
Olive-brown with glistening mint red in the protected areas, approximately 15% of the original color remaining. Thick, frosty texture thanks to the flowlined surfaces of this later die state example, and full cartwheel luster illuminates both sides. Well-preserved surfaces showing only a few microscopic abrasions and a tiny toning spot near star 12. A solid Gem with excellent eye appeal.
Provenance: From our (Stack's) Jim Spaulding White Collection sale, February 1960, lot 70; Emanuel Taylor; Abe Kosoff; Kagin's October 1983 sale, lot 1140.
PCGS# 37198. NGC ID: 225V.
