1842-O Liberty Head Eagle. Fine-12 (PCGS). Light, even khaki-gold patina blankets both sides of this originally preserved piece. All devices are well outlined, and the surfaces reveal an uncommon amount of original luster for the assigned grade. While a mintage of 27,500 pieces for the 1842-O represents a significant increase for eagle production at the New Orleans Mint, this issue remains scarce to rare in all grades.
