Lot Description

Intensely lustrous, silky smooth surfaces exhibit a blush of reddish-russet at lower left obverse, but are otherwise brilliant. The design of this commemorative type, with the open field area on the reverse prone to initial handling marks by the Mint and subsequent shipping carelessness, was not conducive to the survival of high quality specimens such as that offered here. Indeed, at the Superb Gem level precious few exist for Set Registry and other discerning collectors.
