Lot Description

1860-O Liberty Eagle. Winter Variety One, the only known dies. AU-53 (NGC). Isolated softness to the strike notwithstanding, this minimally worn survivor retains an overall bold "look" for both sides. Olive-gold in color, with a bit of a glossy surface texture, yet no individually distracting abrasions. The final New Orleans Mint Eagle of the No Motto design, the 1860-O is very scarce in an absolute sense with just 11,100 pieces produced.
