- 1857 Seated Liberty Dime. Proof-65 (PCGS). OGH. Rare in all grades as it is believe the Proof mintage for this year for Dimes was between 30 and 50 pieces, naturally the vast majority do not merit the Gem grade today. Furthermore, the piece here has exceptional deep gunmetal-blue toning with tinges or russet and orange tucked into the devices. Of course the strike is bold throughout, and the Proof status is unquestionable as the peak of the 1 is repunched. One of the finer examples known and worthy of a top collection.
