1849-C Liberty Head Quarter Eagle. Winter-1, the only known dies. AU-58 (PCGS). Well struck with weakness only on a few select areas; pleasing color and considerable luster remains for the grade. Traces of high point wear are evident on the eagle's neck and wing tips, and on Liberty's forehead hair detail. Surface marks and hairlines are minimal. From a scarce Charlotte Mint issue which is rare in Mint State. Provenance: From the Augustana Collection. PCGS Population: 10; only 2 are finer (MS-62 finest). PCGS# 7753. NGC ID: 25HE.
