- Lot Description
- 1888 Morgan Silver Dollar. Proof-64 Cameo (NGC).
A superior quality survivor of this often poorly produced issue, this coin is worthy of a premium bid. Due to inadequate die spacing, many Proof 1888 silver dollars are softly struck in the centers. Not so the present near-Gem, which displays razor sharp definition over all design elements, including the hair curls at Liberty's ear and the eagle's breast feathers. Untoned to allow ready appreciation of a boldly cameoed finish, this gorgeous specimen is sure to catch the eye of astute Morgan dollar specialists.
Provenance: From the Janet Nakushian Collection.
NGC Census: 10; 22 finer in this category (Proof-67 * Cameo finest).
PCGS# 87323. NGC ID: 27ZH.
