1796 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. BB-63, B-2. Rarity-4. BB Die State I. Small Date, Small Letters. Fine-12 (PCGS). Attractive medium-gray centers are offset by deep slate peripheries on this evenly circulated early dollar. Not only is this the toughest of the major type issues to obtain for 1796, but this is a scarcer major variety as well, with the Small Date and Small Letters combination. Not many of these survived and collectors would do well to secure one when it is offered. A classic mid grade coin that will suit any collector who is seeking an example of this desirable issue.
