1869 Pattern Dime. Judd-696, Pollock-775. Rarity-5. Proof-64 (NGC). Standard Silver design with a right-facing bust of Liberty serving as the focal device on the obverse. Liberty is wearing a soft cap ornamented with three stars. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is around the border and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST is on a scroll below. On the reverse, the denomination 10 CENTS is centered in a wreath of oak and laurel. The inscription STANDARD SILVER is at the border and the date 1869 is below. Struck in silver with a reeded edge.<br />     This piece is lightly patinated in silver-apricot iridescence that deepens in color a bit at the rims. Uniformly brilliant in finish, with only a few wispy hairlines precluding an even higher grade.
