1849/1849 Liberty Head Eagle. VP-002. Repunched Date. MS-61 * (NGC). CAC. Repunched Date, Breen-6886. One of three noteworthy repunched date varieties for the 1849, Breen-6886 shows the base of the 1 in the date recut north. This is one of the finest we have seen in a long time, extraordinary condition for the date. The lustrous sun-gold fields display the expected number of individually unimportant marks.
