Lot Description

A bold CAMEO contrasted GEM Proof 1872 half dime. Bold flashy mirrored fields are essentially flawless. The sharply struck, frosty devices stand out against the fields. Just the slightest touch of gold at the peripheral areas on the obverse. We like the look of this coin, but are not sure why CAC didn't bean it. Only 950 Proofs were struck. PCGS 5, NGC 12. This coin last sold in October 2014, where it realized $1,528 and the Collectors Universe value is $2,400. Just two coins are grade finer in the CAM designation. Worthy of a strong bid and will delight the next owner. Cert. Number 25258517 PCGS # 84455.00
