1870 Pattern Quarter. Judd-903, Pollock-1018. Rarity-7. Proof-63 RB (PCGS). The obverse retains more mint color than the reverse, where the color has faded to tan in areas. Moderate specks from carbon reside on both sides too. The obverse has bust of Liberty facing right, her hair in a pony tail with a ribbon inscribed LIBERTY on her head. She is surrounded by UNITED STATES OF AMERICA to the left and right, below is the Motto IN GOD WE TRUST on a banner. The reverse has an open agricultural wreath with 25 CENTS and 1870 within, STANDARD above. Boldly struck and rarely offered. Struck in copper with a plain edge.
