- Mintage: 223. 10 graded PR-64 UCAM, 25 higher at NGC. 1901 appears to be a prime choice for type purposes as it features the highest mintage of proof quarter-eagles. Memorable as a very choice example, the surface exhibits ideal color in addition to incomparable proof contrast and extraordinary mirrors that are symmetrically reflective from side to side. And of course, details have been perfectly rendered by the dies. No contact at all will be located on either side, the only grade-limiting factor being the presence of delicate, parallel hairlines that shimmer into view at specific viewing angles.
