Lot Description

1806/5 Draped Bust Half Dollar. O-103, T-8. Rarity-2. Large Stars. VF-25 (PCGS). Subtle traces of luster surround the devices of this satisfying overdate example. A marbled bronze iridescence paints the obverse, while the reverse is more lightly toned in a champagne glow. A speck of deeper patina is noted at Liberty's bust. Softly struck at the right reverse as is typical for the variety, but otherwise well defined throughout. Untroubled by blemishes and overall pleasing. Provenance: From the Sutton Court Collection of Early Half Dollar Varieties. Earlier ex from our (Coin Galleries') sale of February 1986, lot 1510.
