Hard and frosty surfaces with nice gloss, glints of faded down brassy-gold color remain to mingle with warm olive gray-brown patina. Some natural planchet striations are evident along the lower and left obverse border, also at upper left reverse, but the strike is well executed and one's eye easily focuses on the overall sharp to full detail. Traces of ancient carbon are scattered about on the obverse, finding greatest concentration in the field off King George's nose, but there are no marks of consequence on this pleasingly smooth AU example.
