Lot Description
1805 Draped Bust Cent. S-267. Rarity-1. AU-53 (PCGS). An appealing example of both the type and variety, this handsome early copper is toned in rich steel and deep golden-brown patina. The surfaces are hard and tight with good gloss, the texture satiny and pleasingly smooth. The end of Liberty's bust and the opposing area on the reverse (word OF) are a bit blunt, but otherwise we note bold to sharp detail throughout the design. This is a scarce certified grade for a Draped Bust cent, and the present example is sure to appeal to advanced collectors. Noyes Die State A/C. Provenance: From the Bimyway Collection. PCGS# 1510. NGC ID: 224K. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
