Lot Description
1881 Three-Dollar Gold Piece. VF-30 (NGC). Deeper honey accents are visible across this beautiful, canary-gold specimen. The fields are smooth, well worn, and untroubled by notable blemishes, offering traces of reflective luster in the protected areas. Remarkably bold and sharp for the assigned grade. Just 500 1881 three-dollar gold pieces were struck at the Philadelphia Mint, the lowest publicized mintage of any three dollar gold piece, and all survivors are extremely desirable in today's market. Attractive, problem free survivors like the present coin are significantly prized. PCGS# 8003. NGC ID: 25N4. Click here for certification details from NGC.
