Losbeschreibung
A low mintage issue, only 260,000 dimes were struck in San Francisco in 1868. The vast majority of these disappeared into wild west commerce, where they would circulate for ages. PCGS CoinFacts estimates that 250 survive in all grades, with 30 in all Mint State grades. The present example is satiny and lustrous silver, blanketed in a blend of deeper olive and blue tinged with gold toning that enhances near-GEM quality surfaces and sharply struck devices. EXTREMELY RARE any finer! PCGS 12, NGC 1, CAC 5.The last two PCGS/CAC examples sold for $3,600, most recently in the 2019 ANA auction. The current PCGS value is listed at $3,250 but this one should sell for more. A great coin for the advanced collector. Just four coins are graded finer, making this a real prize for the advanced collector. Cert. Number 38002690 PCGS # 4648.00
