- 1897 Barber Quarter. Proof-67+ Cameo (PCGS). CAC. Dusted with delicate pearl-gray, pinkish-silver and light olive iridescence, this charming specimen is a delight to behold. Its technical merits are no less impressive, and we note razor sharp striking detail and strong cameo contrast to silky smooth surfaces. Conditionally rare for one of the best produced and near-universally attractive Proof issues of the Barber quarter type, status the 1896 shares with the 1897 and 1898.
