1873 Indian Cent. Close 3. Snow-1, FS-101. Doubled LIBERTY. EF-40 (PCGS). A attractive and glossy specimen of this desirable doubled die with rich chocolate brown coloration throughout. The surfaces are smooth and free from distractions, with traces of deeper patina at the upper obverse border. The reverse exhibits a moderate softness to most design elements, though the obverse remains boldly defined. A beautiful survivor from this blundered issue that was first discovered by Walter Breen about 1957 and first published in Empire Topicsin 1958. Provenance: From the Collection of Gunther Garbe.
