1877 Shield Nickel. Proof-64 Cameo (PCGS). CAC. Pinpoint striking detail on both sides, the surfaces a bit muted beneath mottled reddish-silver patina. There are no outwardly noticeable handling marks, however, and more direct angles do provide some modest "flash" to the fields, thus the Cameo designation by PCGS. The key date 1877 is a Proof only Shield nickel date with an unknown mintage that is probably on the order of just 1,250-1,500 pieces (per Q.
