Lot Description

Rum'n'Cola Collection. Deeply original, this appears to be an album survivor that retains highly attractive bull's-eye toning on the reverse and unexpectedly decent greyish patina on the obverse, all layered over submerged mint luster. That reverse toning speaks for itself, developing concentric rings of chartreuse-cobalt, ruby-cinnamon and magenta-grey. Unlike many competing examples graded near the basal mint-state level, the surface exhibits far less contact than expected, with Liberty's cheek particularly unaffected by noticeable contact. A remarkably astute application of the sadly under-utilized MS-60 grade.
