Lot Description
While 8,362,000 nickels fell from the dies at Denver in 1918, few survived the recession of 1921 or the Great Depression in GEM or finer grades. Today, this gorgeous MS66+ ranks among the FINEST graded at PCGS. A bold, icy lustrous brilliance gleams boldly on both sides of borderline SUPERB GEM. The most delicate iridescent silver-blue, rose-pink, and winter-green pastel hues come to life when rotated in a light. This coin is virtually PRISTINE and devoid of anything that detracts from the AMAZING visual allure! WOW. PCGS 33, NGC 5, CAC 9. There are just four in MS66+ and three in MS67 finer. The most recent MS66+ to sell was not CAC and sold for $13,800. The current Collectors Universe value is $14,000. Only a single non-CAC MS67 has ever sold in auction realizing $31,200 in July 2021. Worthy of a fabulous set and bidding will be intense when it crosses the block. Good luck. Cert. Number 40183180 PCGS # 3938
