- <strong>Obv:</strong> The same design that the Mint used to strike regular issue 1861 Liberty Head eagles. The date is high in the field with the final digit 1 centered between the truncation of the bust and the denticles. <strong>Rev:</strong> Similar to the regular issue design of the year, but with the addition of the motto GOD OUR TRUST on a scroll in the field above the eagle. Deeply and richly toned in a blend of olive-brown and reddish-copper. One of only about a half dozen copper impressions from this particular die pairing, extant per the <em>uspatterns.com</em> website.
