- 1868 Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. OC-P1. Rarity-4+. Misplaced Date, Repunched Date. Proof-62 (PCGS).
Watery reflectivity floods the fields on both sides, delivering significant contrast against the satiny devices. Pleasing olive-gold patina dominates the obverse, while the reverse is only faintly toned in a vanilla hue. Minor reeding marks are noted on the design elements but the fields are considerably untroubled for this grade level. OC-P1 is the scarcer of the two known Proof varieties for the year, with only an estimate 150 survivors as per Cushing and Osborne. It features a dramatically misplaced date visible on the raised rim of the lower obverse.
PCGS# 7016. NGC ID: 252P.
