Lot Description
The small town of Havana, FL has a mural on the side of one downtown building that depicts the Old Spanish Trail, which in some digressive manner, may help exemplify the popularity of the "Spanish Trail" commemorative half-dollar type. Note that the term "Old Spanish Trail" can reference a number of different actual routes, but that depicted on the reverse of the half-dollar aligns with the Southern Borderland Trunkline, an auto route that departs from Saint Augustine, Florida, not be confused with the trade route established centuries earlier. This specimen features considerable appeal for the "choice" level and shows no obverse marks, although a nick or two might be found on the reverse.
