1852 N-1 R1 Repunched 18 NGC graded MS65 Red & Brown.Lustrous bright original mint red mellowing to steel brown on the highpoints with 75% of the obverse and 90% of the reverse showing mint color. The only defects are a barely visible spot of darker steel toning hidden in the dentils left of star 5 and a speck of very light carbon between the N & E in ONE. LDS, die state d (Newcomb's #2). The repunching under the 18 is gone and all the die cracks are clear, including those on the reverse. Our grade is MS65, tied for CC#1 honors with two other examples in the same die state in the Grellman census. Estimate Value $1,750 - UP
