- 1829 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-112a. Rarity-2. MS-64 (PCGS).
This coin is a delightful representative of both these dies and the overall Capped Bust type. Truly original very attractive in-hand. Pearlescent golden shades at the centers are accented by richer blue and bronze toning at the borders. Sharply defined for this later die state and lightly reflective in the fields. A darker streak of olive-brown toning at Liberty's forehead serves as a convenient pedigree marker. An important survivor of the O-112a variety that ranks comfortably in the lower half of the Condition Census.
PCGS# 6154. NGC ID: 24FS.
