Lot Description
The FINEST graded at PCGS, this multicolored SUPERB GEM is exceptionally beautiful. Rich, totally original toning in shades of blue-green, lilac, orange-rose, blend with accents of olive-russet and hints of gold that bring out all the fully delineated details. The strike is bold and fully struck. Adding to the eye appeal are the stunning satiny smooth surfaces that display a rich satin mint bloom. Always popular as it was struck during the first year of the Civil War, and miraculously this coin somehow survived the horrors of that bloody conflict and the following 156 years of history. PCGS 1, NGC 2. This magnificent coin is neither one of the two NGC coins, none have sold since 2010, nor does it seem to be one of the two PCGS MS66+s that have sold in auction. Collector's Universe lists a $10,000 value. Good luck! Cert. Number 84023953 PCGS # 4633
