- Lot Description
- While overshadowed by other early dates, the 1918 Mercury dime is a condition rarity as well. Only seven coins have graded MS67+ FB or MS68 FB. Sharply struck devices are seemingly sculpted out of smooth fields and display a brilliant, satin mint bloom. There is only the slightest hint of iridescent hues, giving this piece a wonderful look. PCGS 49, NGC 18, CAC 14. There are 3 coins assigned the "+" grade at PCGS, with one at NGC. In MS67 FB there are four at PCGS, three at NGC. No CAC-approved PCGS MS66+ ever sold in auction, but a non-CAC coin sold for $3,290 in October 2016. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $3,000 while in MS67 FB, the guide lists a value of $13,000. If you collect SUPERB gem Mercury dimes, this one is deserving of your bids! Cert. Number 83808501 PCGS # 4917
