- Sheldon-77 (R.3). Not rare but much less common than, say, S-76b or S-78, the EAC census has only one true mint-state example known for the die-marriage. While cleaned to a mild extent that managed to evade any noticeable mechanical casualties, the color has been restored with enough skill that PCGS deemed the appearance "natural enough" to permit a straight grade to be bestowed. Some steely peppermint-blue iridescence speaks to the coloration process. Boldly defined, as befits the commercial sharpness level, a tiny hairline beneath "BE" might bear mentioning, while on the reverse, a pinscratch at far right provides a more consequential distraction.
