- 1826 Matron Head Cent. N-5. Rarity-2. MS-62 BN (PCGS).
This attractive piece exhibits intermingled sea green and pale rose highlights on dominant golden-brown patina. Smooth with hard, tight surfaces, a few minor marks on Liberty's neck and throat are easily missed. A shallow area of roughness between Liberty's hair bun and star 9 is as made, the result of foreign matter adhering to the die. EAC grade of AU-55 net AU-50 in the Noyes census, while Bob Grellman says EAC MS-60.
