Lot Description: Finding fully struck examples of the 27-S dime is a serious challenge, especially in such a lofty state of preservation. To find one that not only has fully separated and rounded bands on the fasces, but also full hair and wing details on Liberty's portrait is a monumental occasion! This blazing, brilliant, untoned example combines not just a full, exacting strike, but also exceptionally well preserved surfaces. A really cool pair of die cracks come together at the base of the neck, just to the left of the 1 in the date. The eye appeal is very high end and even if you are ultra picky, you will delight in this coin's visual and technical allure. PCGS 18, NGC 2, CAC 5. The most recent example to sell in auction was the Grand Prix Collection coin, ex Bassano Collection, that sold in our March 2019 Regency Auction for $18,800, which happens to be the current CAC CPG value.
