Here is a high end 63 with amazing luster, near perfect surfaces and a whiz-bang strike! Just two of 13 die pairs dated 1811 feature a large 8. This untoned example is among the finest I’ve seen, truly a showpiece coin. There is a teaching aspect to the coin as well: the obverse clash marks present an exquisite mirror image of the eagle and related central devices. Don’t let this one escape! Est. $4.500 to $5,500.
