- 1937-S Arkansas Centennial. MS-67 (PCGS).
Intense satin luster is adorned with mottled iridescent toning that includes shades of steel-blue, reddish-rose and golden-apricot. Razor sharp in strike, both sides are expertly preserved and fully deserving of the coveted Superb Gem grade from PCGS. The Arkansas Centennial commemorative coin program entered its third year in 1937, during which the San Francisco Mint struck 5,500 examples of this half dollar type for distribution to collectors, plus an additional six coins for assay. Obtainable with ease in lower grades through MS-65, this issue is scarce in MS-66 and a noteworthy condition rarity any finer. Specialists in this series are urged to purse this offering with vigor.
