1860 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. Proof-63 (PCGS). This boldly and vividly toned beauty also offers razor sharp striking detail and a lively reflective finish from the rims to the centers. The 1860 is much scarcer in numismatic circles than a mintage of 1,000 pieces might imply, many of the coins failing to sell during an era when the Mint had just started marketing Proofs to contemporary collectors.
