Lot Description

1880-CC Liberty Eagle. AU-50 (PCGS). Highly lustrous medium gold with bold mint frost and a hint of reflectivity in the protected areas. An elusive date that saw a mintage of only 11,190 pieces. Somewhat amazing is the fact that numerous AU examples of the date exist -- the Mint State population is another story; PCGS has only certified three 1880-CC eagles in Uncirculated, the best of those only MS-61. An aesthetically appealing coin with no heavy marks to immediately draw the viewer's eye.
