1852-O Liberty Seated Quarter. Briggs 1-B. VF-20 (PCGS). OGH. Warmly toned in steel gray, both sides retain bold outline detail to all major design elements. The 1852-O is a well respected key date Liberty Seated quarter issue that has a mintage of just 96,000 pieces. The typical survivor is well worn as much of the mintage saw immediate -- and heavy -- use in New Orleans commerce. Other examples may have been melted during the run up in silver prices during the early California Gold Rush era. A find for the specialist in New Orleans Mint or Liberty Seated coinage.
