Losbeschreibung: This frosty and tight example reveals underlying pale pinkish mint color on surfaces that are generally toned in light, attractive, steel-brown iridescence. Swirls of deeper color are scattered about on both sides, the most prominent of which is on the reverse at the letters NT in CENT. These join with a few wispy carbon spots to preclude a full Gem Mint State grade, but no significant marks are seen, and there is plenty of visual appeal. Sharply struck, both in the centers and at the borders, although the denticulation at right reverse is a bit thin due to less than ideal centering on that side. Presenting far better than the typical Uncirculated early date Matron Head cent, this piece would do equally well in a type set or more specialized collection.
