A truly exciting, totally original and MAGNIFICENT example of this KEY date Mercury dime. This 26-S looks like it just came out of a 94 year old paper envelope. A gorgeous GEM in every way. Brilliant silver surfaces have a stunning vibrancy in the fields that brings the wonderful iridescent toning on both sides to life. Blue at the rims blends with tangerine and apricot hues that dominate the central portions. An exacting blow from the dies rendered all the devices crisply; you do not need a glass to see the full strike and full bands. The eye appeal is sweet! PCGS 1, NGC 0. Our customer bought this borderline SUPERB example from our March 2020 Regency Auction, where it brought $23,500. While he has changed direction in his collecting it should be noted that it has been a decade since the last MS67 FB sold, realizing nearly $55,000!
