- 1795 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar. BB-21, B-1. Rarity-2. Two Leaves. VF-30 (NGC).
Lightly to moderately toned surfaces retain plenty of bold definition from a nicely centered, well executed strike. The in hand appearance is quite smooth for a moderately circulated early dollar, confirming this coin as an attractive mid-grade type candidate from the brief and challenging Flowing Hair series of 1794 to 1795. Bowers-Borckardt 21 is the counterpart to BB-27, the most readily obtainable die marriage of the Two Leaves Guide Bookvariety.
Provenance: From the Marc Kravit Collection.
PCGS# 6853. NGC ID: 24WZ.
