- Lot Description
- A reputation for inadequate quality control means most 1852-C gold dollars suffer from inadequate strikes and mediocre planchets, and this is pretty much a typical example in that regard. Fifteen points of circulation doesn't quite explain soft central definition, but the strike was sufficiently powerful to pop up the date and the mintmark. "LA" is a bit weak on the reverse due to thinning of planchet in that area.
