Lot Description

Breen Die State IV. A predominantly dark steely-copper example with lighter chocolate-brown color to the obverse high points and within the reverse field around the central design motifs. There is some light pitting in the planchet, most notably along the upper right obverse border, and both sides show hard, ancient surface build up in the protected areas around many of the design elements, especially on the obverse. Boldly defined in the presence of overall light wear with no significant handling marks to report. Tied for CC#13 for the Sheldon-246 dies in the Noyes census, in which it is graded EAC VF30, net VF20.
