Lot Description

1871 Liberty Seated Half Dime. Proof-66 (PCGS). CAC. The mintage of the 1871 Proof half dime was 960 pieces, from which this is one of the finest seen. The toning is exquisite with vibrant sunset hues on the obverse that blend with sky blue and magenta, similar on the reverse where the viewer is greeted by yellow-gold on the left fading toward blue and magenta on the right. Notice the quality of the surfaces, with no detracting marks on the devices or within the delicate reflective fields.
